Hello Friends, I don't know how to get rid of the underlining cos I am that stupid. Okay anyways, I get so paranoid cos no one replies to my love letters. Please (I beg you) bring everything. Thanks and all the best :D

Love, The QMs

1.Gown
There will be strictly no exchanging of gowns any more. Should you gown be too long, please make use of the safety pins that will be brought to HK and pin the hem of the gown up. Please note that the gown should not touch the floor and should end at or below your ankle, unless you are really very tall.

-use safety pin to shorten the gown if it is too long
- For those whose gowns will tend to slip off your shoulders, please use the non-exposure tapes that we have bought and secure the gown in place.
-please handle the gowns, especially the ribbons at the side, with lots of care as no extra gowns will be brought over to HK

2.Shoes
Your court shoes should resemble the attached photo. Please take photos of your court shoes (top view and side view) and e-mail it to this address should you be unsure. For the seniors, please try on the shoes and make sure that they are still comfortable. Do insert a gel pad if it is uncomfortable to walk in.

-All to wear black court shoes
-with no fancy prints or designs of any sort
-without a strap (if possible, if not it's all right)
-Must have a heel, but not stilettos
-Front of the shoes should be rounded as far as possible
-Preferably non-glossy

3.Hair
-all lose strands of hair to be clipped up neatly. (there should be no "side-curtains")
-hairbands worn must be plain and black in colour with no fancy designs
-clip up your fringe unless you have bangs
-tie only a single ponytail. You can french-braid your hair if you want to.

4.Make-up
-Please bring your own set of cosmetics: lip gloss/lipstick, foundation, blusher, eye shadow, brushes, powder, etc
-Eye shadow to be in any shades of purple or pink.
-Lip gloss/ lipstick should not be bright red or dark red. Please use one that is lightly coloured.
-SLs: Each section to assign one person or more to help the entire section do the make-up.

Below is a list of the things that you must bring. Please add this on to the list that was issued and make sure you bring everything. (and of course remember to bring them back)

1. Gowns (the whole set)
2. Court shoes
3. Make-up
4. Hair accessories
5. Scores
6. Tuning fork
7. Pitch pipe (SLs)

Okay, Blogger resized the images, so the size of the badge above is NOT the actual size, I'm glad I included the actual diameter.
Price list
Small badge- $2.90
Small with key chain/HP accessory/Magnet- $3.90

Large badge- $4.90
Large with key chain/HP accessory/Magnet- $5.90

XL badge- $9.90
XL with key chain/HP accessory/Magnet- $9.90

Yeah, that day I told you guys it was $2.00, it was the non customized ones, yes, apparently I am that stupid.
The badge of the best size would be the large one and since the point of it is to be a badge, I guess we'll be going for the $4.90 option?

Anyway, some people may not be interested in purchasing this badge, please do let me know. But please let me know before Tuesday. This is NOT compulsory, please don't feel the obligation to order, because it's a rather expensive obligation.

If I don't receive any comments on the design of the badge, I'll just submit the given one. Also, do note that the design might not be ideal when it comes, given how I didn't ask the shop keeper anything.

Go ahead and tag on the tagboard!

last choir practice before the trip. nervous?excited?

okay. we do not have practices over the weekends, so please remember to practice. any parts you're unsure of, feel free to call me. but i have tuition too so i may not pick up the phone at all times :D

here's the naggy part. really really really, i don't like to nag but we have to brighten up our sounds! open your mouth, lift your cheekbones, raise your eyebrows. THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE. people not going to HK, don't think i will go easy on you! i'll be even more strict! we have another concert coming up soon!!!

i shall point out everyone's mistakes. i need people to point out mine. i can't hear myself...

Sec 1s:
Brenda: Airy, try to look happier!!! i know it's tiring but try. raise cheekbones, open your mouth! You also need to have clearer articulation. Have more confidence okay!
Hana: Airy. Use your singing voice. sometimes you use too much of your speaking voice that your sound will go flat. use support okay! at the same time, try to make the colour of your voice rounder. It will brighten up the sound also :D
Yong Qing: Bright sound which is a good point. sometimes a little airy. use support! Try to sing louder. i know you can do it!
Overall: Airy, but as time passes, it will be better. i was like this in sec 1 also :D. Don't be afraid of singing out. it's better that you sing out so i can hear your mistakes and quickly correct you!
oh and one more point. when breathing, breathe sideways and downwards, not upwards. sometimes from the back i can see your shoulders moving upwards. NONONO! don't ever move your shoulders. so i'll go and press it.

Sec 2s:
Elizabeth: [sigh i think i hardly pay attention to your voice.] I know you blend with emily though. Okay, i remembered! Yes, don't try to push too hard. sometimes i can hear you pushing your voice and it sounds a little strained and unstable.
Alicia: airy. Use more support! voice is a little backwards, lift cheekbones to be brighter!
Yong Fong: Airy. Use support. You need a lot of support!!! Especially for your LOW NOTES! HAHAHA. really really. try to push yourself to reach lower notes. we need an F for Ant's Summer, E for Alleluia!
Emily: You ah, don't go against me lah. Listen listen listen! Your voice is too lazy, have to make it more firm! Open your mouth!!! or next time i'll stick a ping pong ball into your mouth! You see, if you don't make your voice less lazy, we can't blend, and you have to make the effort to blend with others also. Low notes good. sigh i think we are the only two people in choir that can go to D at the moment.
Overall: Have to work hard for low notes! SUPPORT SUPPORT! i expect you people to be able to give me a firm firm firm E by end of this year! HAHAHA

Sec 3s:
PeiPei: Airy. eh i can hear your voice stick out okay.
SuAnn: Airy. super. sigh tell you also no use. 99.9999999% of the time not in choir
Grace: You ah, also airy leh.and make your sound brighter!
Winny: someone help me fill in please
Yvonne: Airy, and try to sing louder.
Cheryl: You have to work to make your sound brighter!!! I have feedback that our voice clashes. Since i'm too bright and you're too dark. eh it's not the 1st time i told you already right? Make your sound brighter or i'm going to tell you to sing 'here here here' like what conductor does.
Sandra: Sing louder please. i think the sec 1s sing louder than you!
Overall: Eh we old people as seniors already leh. must charge battery! POWER! cannot lose to juniors... heh

fine i admit that i got tired at the sec 3s part so it was shorter.

Hello.
The badge design is below. Yeah, I know it's very ugly, don't complain. If you have any suggestions, or fonts you want me to use, let me know. Uh, and if anyone wants to completely redesign the badge, I fully understand.
I think it's just me, but the pink font is seriously weird! The "Don't mess with Alto 2" seems to be like some tough guy message and it's in pink!
Okay, never mind, as I said, you all can feel free to email me for suggestions or tag at the tagboard.
Hopefully, we can get this done before school reopens and before you kids return from HK. We'll see how things go.

Dear Choir,

It's us, your favourite QMs again! This is a gentle reminder to TRY ON YOUR GOWNS PHYSICALLY (that means really wearing it and try breathing in it and not us testing the zip). Should you have any issues regarding your gown, regardless of whether you are going to HK, please do bring your gowns tomorrow.

The gowns are to be worn with a proper pair of black court shoes, which would resemble the attached photo. The court shoes must be:

1. Black in colour, and only black
2. With no fancy prints or designs of any sort
3. Without a strap (if possible, if not then it's okay)
4. Must have a heel, but not stilettos.
5. Front of the shoes should be rounded as far as possible
6. Preferably non-glossy

For the seniors who probably got their shoes ages ago, please do try them on and make sure it's still comfortable to walk in. Do insert a gel pad if you think it's uncomfortable.

For those going for the HK trip, you are once again reminded that you will need to bring your gown (the whole set) , court shoes and safety pins (in case something happens), and for those whose gowns will slip off their shoulders, you may consider bringing some double-sided tape to just make sure it stays. However, this is not encouraged for those with skin allergies, etc.

We are introducing to you a new service! And that is, you can take a photo of your court shoes and send it to us if you're in doubt, and it will spare you the trouble of bringing them personally (:

Love,
The QMs

Hello Choir,

It's your QMs again! We would like ALL Sec 1s who are attending the intensive training tomorrow to bring their gowns tomorrow. As we know that the gowns might be too long for some of you, we will be using safety pins to secure your gowns in place, so that you will not need to worry about it in HK.

For those who are going to HK and for some reason or another not attending tomorrow's intensive training, please bring your gowns on Thursday (17 June 2010) . All Sec 2s going for the HK trip are to bring their gowns on Thursday as well. For the Sec 3s, do bring your gowns along should there be any issues lengthwise (too short, etc).

Please note that all issues regarding gowns must be brought up via e-mail by Wednesday (16 June 2010), any requests after that will be ignored.

SLs, please help to relay this e-mail and the previous e-mail by posting it on your section blogs. Thank you(:

Love,
The QMs
